As if sports is my life...
Had great fun last Saturday. Our school director's daughter is the sports marketing agent at Oregon State University in Corvallis, and as such, her folks get choice tickets to all sporting events at OSU! How cool is that? Well, let me tell you we were the recipients of such perks last weekend (actually, we got the sheet last September and decided to go to the game when the Beavers played Washington State - Karina's alma mater. To add to the joy, Karina's mom, Dorothy, who also graduated from WSU was in town, making up for the weekend of her birthday (12.31.12) when she couldn't make it down due to illness. So here's the recap of our time together ...
decked out in their crimson and grey; Karina, however was
barely flying at half-mast - she's got a mean case of a cold
plus other symptoms ... she's still hacking today

it'll be 2! by the way, we're in row 2 behind the team!
Don't you think Michelle Obama when you see him?
(they {Craig Robinson} and Mrs. O are brother and sister)
Yes!
Final Score - at least some were happy
But - the real joy came on Sunday, as Lenetta and Terry decided to do something fun for their preacher, and a sack of special "stuff" appeared on my desk - an OSU black windbreaker, a white shirt, and the following:
an ORANGE OSU (not to be confused with Illinois) shirt and ORANGE shoes (as you can see, I already wore them to walk the dog Sunday afternoon! They're Nike's! And they're sooooo light-weight; last time I bought a pair of high top court shoes I think I was a junior in H.S. and they were Converse All-Stars - weighing in at about 5 pounds! (each?)
YES! YES! YES!
needless to say, there's a big smile behind this "post" today.
To catch up a bit - two weeks ago I went to Tacoma to visit Dorothy at her retirement party (she quit working at 80!) and her place of employment (Luth. Comm. Services) threw her a farewell/thank you party downtown on the waterfront. It was a great day for her, to be sure!
with her "boss," Trudy
While I was returning home I noticed that my Garmin probably needs to be re-calibrated ...
water on the right is the backwater of Puget Sound ... and I'm not -36 feet underwater! but notice, neither was I speeding! That's a rarity.
that's about it from here.
Go Beavs!
love ya'
Karina and Dan
With your new orange duds, you'll fit right in the Jesup sports scene! Are those shoes fluorescent? Uff-dah!
