ON THE ROAD AGAIN pt 3?

so, if 1 and 2 are interlaced, I guess the next must be the second, although it really is the third!

Except for the heat (got to 104 with Santa Ana winds {the ones from the desert and dry your eyes, throat, and leave you DYING for water} the weather has been perfect!  after yesterday ... oh, did I tell you, Micah got home ... well, he got to Ventura yesterday morning and called later to let us know.  Zephyr's B-Day party was scheduled for 5:30 at Fuddruckers - we were there with Bud and Loie (Carrie's folks) and had a great evening.  Earlier we had given Z a Thomas train - which he thoroughly enjoys.

Also got him a a red cowboy hat to go with the rocking horse - also enjoying it.

what a great time time with a grandson!

so, as I was saying - Micah arrived, and K and I made a quick(?) trip to pick him up ... 209 miles in city traffic - made great time, got there in about three hours and back in the same. only problem - got home at about 2:30 a.m.  But, considering the circumstances, it was WORTH IT!

we slept in this morning; went out to breakfast, and then out to M&C's - Carrie was working, Micah home playing trains with Z.

went to a pumpkin patch for fruit smoothies - but temp was still over 100 - so didn't stay long.

home for dinner; watched part 2 of Toy Story (theme of the B-Day party this weekend) (watched part 1 last nigh) ( you got it, part 3 tomorrow)  what a fun show!  The pic of Zephyr in his Buzz Lightyear wings says it all!

a few pics to keep you updated.

  1. Oh, that was super fun to see Z and his parents...and the b'day theme/ BL wings etc. Everyone looks great. Looks like Z warmed up to you nicely! :) Hard to imagine those temperatures! Thanks for sharing! Please greet K & M (Z too) for us. Sure would love to see them visit Iowa - which must seem like "light years" away from sunny CA! Enjoy your grpa time! Love all the pix!!!!

  2. "Ain't" grandparenting just the bestest?! Glad you two could make the trip together and see all the family. (Carrie, you look wonderful and I see your toes are safe from Papa Dan.)

Safe travels as you make your way back home again, whichever route you take. Holy Angels travel with you.
