had a day off today! what a treat - and got to spend it with Kristi!
she arrived last night around 10:00. had marionberry cobbler and ice cream - yum.
she kinda slept in, so I watered the gardens and flowers; then we went off on "Poppy and Kristi's Excellent Adventure!" hit a driving range for about an hour and decided it was time to get real, so Kilarney Golf Course, here we come! the course is a delightful little treat, no hole longer than 497 yards, no terrain to kill you ('ceptin') for the river running by the second hole and third hole, right K?
it was hot! close to 90, but a nice breeze and especially comfortable in the shade. Played 7 holes by ourselves and were joined by a single at the 8th, and finished up as a threesome. Was pleased my hand didn't hurt, sting, or cause tears to come to my eyes! hurray!

Karina had to work today; had a special meeting set for 4:00, but it got canceled ... that's too bad, it is a most needed meeting! hopefully the cancelers had a good reason for doing so.
we're bratwursting tonight - will get the brats in the beer pretty soon; then on to the grill; also having grilled corn on the cob. how perfect is that for a picnic!
gotta go. hope you enjoyed your day as much as we did - no rains, flooding, for you.

We are going to replicate your muffins this coming weekend w/ blackberries! Mark bought them today. I hope we can 'come close' to the goodness of yours.
We did have a rain, and the river is still coming up, but nothing severe.
We are cleaning our house thoroughly tonight because your sister is coming tomorrow to give it the white glove treatment. Mark is looking forward to lunch tomorrow as he gets to grill something special in honor of Mark B's visit. Can't tell you what it is! The initials are P.C.'s :)
