12!

great day! had a wonderful crowd at church today ... a lot of guests - the African Gospel Acapella was AMAZING! all four are blind - due to improper medicine from their tribal medicine man when they had measles - their website was listed a few days ago. bought a CD and a lot of folks gave to their cause - the blind ministry in Liberia. They sang at all the "hymn" spots as well as during offering and communion. When they were warming up, they were doing a song, "Seek and Find"; I asked their driver/techie if they were doing that song, he said "no" but as you will see (if you listen to the sermon this week) that was the theme of my sermon. so they replaced the one for the offering song with "Seek and Find." How cool is that? What a worship-filled way to start the day! No pics ... I forgot. After the service one little guy, Anders, knowing the AGA singers wouldn't be back said, "do you think four white men could sing like that sometime?" I think he liked the extra music ...

then "home, home of the range..." had breakfast at Elmers first; Karina was in a painting mood and I was in a "let her be in that mood" mood, so's I set up some sawhorses in the backyard, and let her have at it! Next time anyone visits - even Kristi tonight - gets painted doors on the bedroom! The rates will be doubling, you can be sure!

  1. Ya, and why I was concerned with offending the minister and his wife, I'll never know! Sheesh!

Hey, Larry's gonna be thrilled knowing that the doors in your home are painted. He was a little miffed with the splotchy work you'd done before OUR arrival. It's pretty obvious which sibling is loved the most - humph!!!!!

  2. OK, I did NOT need to see that muffin paper!

Glad you guys ate the candy. We think Goodies is the best - and we have tried MANY chocolates over the past 41 years!

Your note about AGA changing their song because of your sermon reminded me of a comment Pastor Moog made once about REWB. He'd preach on some text and while REWB was listening, she was 'fast forwarding' through her hymnal in her head and the variations on a tune of that particular hymn which would echo the sermon! His comment was, "Well, at least one person was listening!" :) I'm sure there were more.

I think you should double your rates for white doors! It is so worth it!

  3. Oh, to make the REWB story crystal clear...she'd play that hymn & variations during the offertory that followed the sermon.
