HOLY WEEK ... INDEED!

It is that - a HOLY week!  Almost incomprehensible when you have the chance to think about it.  Last Sunday I was welcomed by the artwork of our Worship Arts Committee once again.  On Palm Sunday we begin the service with a bell fanfare (in the entryway) then the Gospel and dialog and then the procession - the cross, the banners, the kids waving palm branches, the congregation, the confirmands (second service only) and it is a HUGE celebration!  The work of the WAC?  Palm branches - decorated with hand prints of the pre-school kids - for all to process over!  I felt like a king!

It's like having MORE kids participating!

The "way" strewn with palm branches
Isn't that great!

Had three confirmands this year - had Jeff preach.  What a treat that was.

We did our "Journey with Jesus" (see last week's post for video link) for the community last evening - about 75 showed up;  I washed feet.  During the day the 275 kids of the pre-school and Kindergarten make their way through the process.  Even have the 1st and 2nd Graders from another Lutheran School coming this afternoon to participate.

Tonight we celebrate 1st Communion for our 5th Graders - at Maundy Thursday worship;  tonight's words: are "for you" - not part of the Seven Last Words from the Cross - but important words, nevertheless.  By the way, the front of the chancel now looks like this -

we're getting there - Good Friday is "Hands" and Easter Sunday (sunrise) is "alleluia".

with confirmation I had to add one last pic - with the roses on the altar I was impressed with this:

oh - one last thing ... trying to get all my ducks in a row ...

a blessed week to you all!

love ya,

Karina and Dan

Addendum:  April 6th
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MOM!!!
We love you.
and I know - it's not Easter, yet, but I just love this Easter song that the choir is doing Sunday.
I'll let you in on a rehearsal  -
