AIN'T GOT TIME

How crazy is this?  I'm looking at the things I need to get done before we head south, and the phrase that rumbled through my mind was "ain't got time."  Well, that caused me to remember some words from the past - and the more words I remembered, I even came up with the song: "This Old House"!  Does anybody remember this one?  Even had theological overtones!
It hit Billboard #1 in 1954 with Rosmary Clooney ... I was five ... but remembered most of the words! Did we sing it a lot around the house???  As I said, how crazy is this?  But I don't know why I am rambling so.  Oh yeah, "aint' got time!"

I had a to-do list yesterday, and it still carries forth today - go to AAA and get a trip-tic;  to the pet supply for dog food for the folks carrying for Sunny; get the drivers seat on the car fixed; get new tires and alignment; go to the storage shed and find the 'stuff' that belongs to Micah and Carrie; and on and on and on.

But I think by Thursday it'll be good!

So wish us the best!  Will try to blog along the way - we're taking the Coastal Highway (US-101) most of the way through California - I've only been on the upper portion - Monterrey, San Francisco, and north.  Am looking forward to the area from Monterrey south to San Diego.  Hope there are a lot of pictures - that way my commentary isn't necessary!  My readership will be pleased! So join us for the trip.

Thanks for the update on the school at Readlyn, Becky.  Hope you do well!  And thanks, Judy,  for the available comment boxes to carry on our conversation.  Your fishing expedition was a great success!  Just thinking ... I haven't been fishing since I moved to Portland.  That's 13 years!  That's terrible.  The only good thing is - the last time I went salmon fishing - in the river - I caught a 30 pounder!  (too bad THAT was about 1992).  Seems my fishing (for fish) days somehow got numbered.  If I ever get back to the mid-west, I'll be asking for a guide - you guys are good!

The garden's have been picked apart -  no more vines of peas, beans, or tomatoes ... looks rather barren.  Don't know if Karina will be planting some type of garden cover for the winter.  I'll surprise myself.

Micah got home a couple weeks ago and reported his best salmon season ever - The boat caught 1.1 million pounds of various kinds of salmon.  Now he's getting ready to fish for squid off the So Cal coast again.

That's about it from here this week.  "Ain't got time" for no more writin'!

Love ya.
Karina and Dan,
the soon to be globe-trotters

  1. I'm sitting in the living room with your bro and sis. Your brother says, "Well, that would still have been radio days"....so perhaps you/he/REWB all heard it on KICD radio!

Funny thing about the mind - isn't it?

We will be delighted to take a trip south with you on US #101. I've never been on that highway, so it will all be a new adventure. Take lots of pix and add commentary so we know what we are lookin' at! Greet your family for us and give Z man an extra squeeze! Would so love to see him and your kids again!

Speaking of salmon - we shared a blackened salmon dinner w/ REWB last night! YUM
