It seems that Labor Day usually ends up being a time of last minute tasks, jobs, and 'labors' that never seem to get done during the rest of the year. But the mold was broken! What a great weekend we had. With friends, food, and at times, just each other.
Sunday, or course started with worship ... had a video that was just marvelous - had many requests for the quotations as well as the website. Hope you also enjoy it.
problem was, though - got so excited about everything else, I forgot to turn on my mp3 mike for my sermon - so had to record it in the office later ... oh well. For the listeners, I hope you enjoy!
Sunday afternoon became a real treat. As I mentioned in the last blog, we had a picnic with our dearest clergy/families - Ray and Judy; Tony and Renell (and Mom, Alma); Bill and his friend Carol; and us, of course. Had our brand of surf and turf - a salmon fillet and flank steak - both turned out marvelously well on the BBQ; also did roasting ears on the Bar-B; Karina made a FANTASTICO zucchini cassarole - (did I say how wonderful it was???) and an apple crisp (yup, our apples, yum) - the others brought appetizers and desserts. All were in rare moods - it was "relate-a-funny-story" Sunday - and the stories kept coming and coming! I was worn out from laughter - or should I say from the 'labor of laughing'!

County did some yard work behind our fence, so that always brings out the neighbors - I was the first one there, this time ... the video is for you kids who are into heavy equipment. They're removing the silt from the catch-water pond behind our fence, so that the water can run off/through freely once again.
another Vroom, vroom!
Always need 'food' pics, so I include them to show you how much like the Midwest Oregon is!
the apples are from our tree - I think three kinds are grafted into it - 2 baking apples and one snacking apple - YES! And the 'snackers' are GRRRRREAT! But did I tell you how wonderful the zucchini casserole was?
Johnny Appleseed would be proud!
After the L.D.celebration we splurged and bought ourselves a 10 ft cantilevered umbrella for the back patio. The Monday holiday had the outdoor furniture 20% off with other price reductions! Boy, is this ever slick!!! No center pole to trip over or work around - and you don't have to cut a hole in the middle of your second favorite linen table cloth, and then try to hide the evidence from your wife. Just kidding, Karina.
shhhhh. the queen is resting

Huh, I was so 'pumped' for the heavy-equipment show and then I get the message -- THIS VIDEO NOT AVAILABLE FOR VIEWING RIGHT NOW. Well, you can be sure that I'm going to check back later and hope to see and hear some really big VROOM-VROOMS.
ReplyDeleteHey, Larry's decided for sure now, so, we'll be seeing you in monthly swatches beginning next year. BE VERY AFRAID!!!
I got the same message - and reposted the video; as it was playing, it said "no longer available" and then clicked back to playing ... don't know what that means ... let's ask the expert.
ReplyDeleteJudy? JuDY?
JUdy?
JUDY?
if you ask loud enough and long enough surely the one being beckoned will repond ...

Well, you've probably researched youtube yourself, but here's what I found:
ReplyDeleteTwenty-four hours of video are uploaded to YouTube every minute and we have hundreds of millions of users worldwide. Occasionally, YouTube users may encounter errors, or a slower than normal YouTube experience. Rest assured our engineering team works around the clock to manage the site and is working hard to minimize downtime.
I've also put a 'shout out' to our family video man, so should he expand on this question further - you'll be the first to know (after me!)
Loved the opening Labor Day quotes! We heard a really good sermon on Sunday too! :)
The food pix looks great. I recognize corn on the cob. What is the round tan disc? Zucchini?
I have a really good brownie recipe that uses a zucchini - in case you don't have one in the recipe box.
And....here is Tech T's thoughts.
ReplyDeleteIt probably hadn't fully processed yet. YouTube creates a space for it (think reserved parking space) when it gets uploaded, even if the video processing by the server hasn't completed (car hasn't yet arrived, but you know where it will park when it gets there).
eggplant.
ReplyDeleteI knew you'd come through - thanks for the credit, but no, I didn't check out YouTube advisory. SO what will probably happen - this one will go away again and mysteriously re-park itself???
I'm amazed. I just hope I remember where I parked it the first time! hah
which reminds me - Which is worse? Having your car keys and forgetting where you put the car; OR having the car in the driveway and not knowing where the keys are???
