16

beautiful day again! decided to go and have lunch with K at Providence.
Halsey Street Cafe - neat place

while there we made it to the credit union and picked up our EUROS - (not the Greek lamb/beef meal - those are GRYOS). also met with our tour leader Erv Wichner this morning as well. brought home some Luther biographies, so will try to 'bone-up' with a crash course of reformation history.

the garden is looking great; tomatoes setting on, peas a-bloom, "beans sayin' I think I can I think I can," yellow squash not living up to their name - should be called "firmandyellows", and zucchini (need I say more about them?).

neighbor (with smoke tree) needs our tree-men to do some work in his back yard; he's not taking the poplars down completely - just a trim... will spruce up the area for us all, though.

listening to the news in the background, hearing of the stresses in the military and the wiki-leaks, how sad.

but, on a lighter note

saw it when going to work this morning.

g'nite.

  1. So, you 'do' have someone to 'harvest' all the veggies while you are abroad - right?

  2. Well, not sure if we will actually have much, except tomatoes, maybe some zukes. The peas are just flowering and the beans not yet. the eggplants have many flowers, but no fruit yet. Of course, we will have the house sitter and neighbors checking. but my prayer is to come home to a luscious garden full of vegs. I am picking the last of the marions tonight, not many left. The apple crop looks promising. It's exciting to see how it is all growing so well in the raised beds even though we put it in so late. luckily we have late summer into September.
Judy, I think you should measure the sunflower with the long arm as the gage, record it in number of stitches per square inch as only a true quilter would.
Just a thought. Love ya, Karina

  3. Hey, that bumper sticker is a LOT easier to read this morning than it was last night...and no, I don't think it is my eyes. Must have zoomed in for those of us w/ 'mature eyes'! Which leads me to believe all of this was going on while you are driving!?!?! tsk tsk!! What would Oprah say?
