had a gorgeous sunset tonight ... went out on a walk and just about missed it, though. we have orange from the smoke from the fires in British Columbia. and speaking of fires - we have one burning in Oregon - the 5500 acre Rooster Rock fire - just south of Sisters. no immediate problem, unless the wind changes, and the good folks of that quaint town had to pack up and leave.
Karina worked overtime all week to get tomorrow off! yay! will have many hours to herself to get the packing and trip last minute pieces in order.
we are getting excited. 2 days! then off to see the places where Uncle Marty walked. as Karina said, who's Uncle Marty? a relative I don't know yet? - she must have fallen asleep in our reading when I transitioned from Doctor Martin Luther to uncle Marty. I figure the more familiar I think of him, the less intimidating he becomes.
have had many well-wishers bless our trip. I'm sure it will be a good one. was informed (sadly) that there won't be time to visit Buchenwald or Dachau. we were hoping that we could possibly miss a scheduled museum time for such a side trip, but to no avail. however, our tour leader said "there will be plenty to fill your travels!" no doubt.
if all goes well, I'll be blogging each day so that anyone who wants can join in the fun! I'll try to relate all the Polish Saxon jokes I remember.
Guten Nacht!

Wow! Your guests have arrived as you possibly read this now. We're assuming tomorrow is 'lift-off'. Yes?
ReplyDeleteWe're in Mn now on our way to Lutheran Island Camp's Quilt Auction tomorrow. The Mn W's are there already this past week. We did stop at a quilt shop in Bird Island and thought you two! :) :)
I cut out my Sister's q top yesterday so it will be awaitin' me upon our arrival back home.
We are 'pumped' and ready to travel with you via the ether. It might be our only trip to Germany!
God Bless your travels hither and thither and yon & back home again.
